This card uses two of my
current favorite techniques: color
sprays for quick backgrounds, and UTEE (Ultra Thick Embossing Enamel) applied
without using ink . . .
I love using sprays
because they always turn out beautifully and you never know exactly what you're
going to get – which adds to the excitement!
As for UTEE, I like to
take the merest pinch of the coarse powder granules and drop them at random on
the cardstock. Heat from beneath to
avoid scattering them. The result is subtle
and very artistic. Of course, it may be
so subtle that the camera won't pick it up, but in real life, trust me – it's
quite lovely.
In keeping with the owl
image on the card front, the message inside reads, "Older, wiser, and
better in every way." Which
describes my friend since junior high to perfection!
